"Thank You!! I've owned my Electric Glide Classic since April 07'. Stopping in to talk to guys in service now and then and asking if there was anything that could be done to stop the whinning in 5th gear. I asked about different gear lube, adjusting the belt, etc. During a ride in Sept. I happen to stop in at the H-D shop and talk with John. He was telling me how he had just purchased a new Super Glide 08' how smooth it was and that there was no whinning in 5th. He told me that H-D had put a new IDS system on the 08's and that there was a kit available for the 07's to bring them up to date. I told John that before I spent $300.00 on any accessory I'd have to ride a new bike to compare it to mine. John imediatley told me that I could ride his new bike. I jumped at the chance and took off down the road. Not getting no more than 1/2 mile down the road I turned around and came back and set up a date to have this new IDS system put on bike! WOW what a difference!! I now have 8,700 miles on my 07' bike and still can not believe the difference in it! No 5th gear whinning and 1/2 the vibration in the handle bars! NIGHT AND DAY! To anyone who has a 2007 touring H-D. Stop by and talk to Mark in service! This IDS system will be the most appreciated money youv'e spent on yourself!! Rich Van Hoozer "

"Service installed the new IDS on my 07 FLHX yesterday. I picked my bike up just before 3 p.m. and did not stop riding it until 10 pm! MAN...What a difference! I don't have to turn up the radio in 5th gear, and now I can enjoy 6th gear if I feel like it in town (not that I would)! I am very impressed. Special thanks to the Service Department and all you folks at Harley-Davidson of Erie for always coming thru for me and making me, as I know you do everyone, feel uniquely special at the dealership!"

"I purchased my bike from a nearby Harley-Davidson dealership but they did not treat me very good as a customer. My bike was hit by a car while it was parked along the street. I contacted the dealership where I bought my bike to look at it and they said it would be 6 to 8 weeks before they could look at it. I CALLED ERIE HD. "Dear Kelly and Susan, Purchasing my 2008 Softail Custom was a blast! Your staff is first class. From picking out chrome to finding the perfect pair of chaps the whole experience was way more fun than a person should have. I especially want to make note of how valuable Debbie McCauley's help was in fitting me in the right bike. With a lot of outside male influences (not from H-D) telling me what I would like and what I wouldn't like, Debbie was right there to help me decide by myself which bike was right for me. Her knowledge and expertise is an asset in a male dominated business and you are very fortunate to have her on your staff. I also want to commend Bill Townsend on his excellent service in fitting my bike specifically to my body. He took the time to make sure the highway pegs and handle bars were set perfectly to fit me. Brittany and Laurie in MotorClothes are always helpful. They are very customer oriented and are well educated in the Harley-Davidson line of clothing, helmets and other accessories. They make coming in your store a real experience and I truly enjoy their friendship. Dan whiteman made the purchase seamless. He is very good at explaining every detail of the financial part of the sale. The poker game is an excellent way to guide the sales process through all aspects of your store. Although I already knew everyone in the shop, it was a real trip playing the game (and even more fun winning the $100 gift certificate!). Thanks for a very positive purchasing experience. "

"I had my 2007 Road king in for service last week to have the new IDS (Isolated Drive System) sprocket installed. Since I was the first one at your dealership to have this new pulley installed on a 2007 bike, I wanted to give a quick report on how it's working. The IDS sprocket has 'eliminated' all of the strange clatter issues that plague most of the 2007 touring bikes. My bike would develop a nasty sounding clatter if I shifted into 6th gear below 70 MPH, now I can shift into 6th gear at 60 MPH with no issues. In fact, I can ride the bike in any gear at a lower, more reasonable, RPM without it sounding like the motor is lugging or the tranny is clattering. Jack and Brian at the parts counter went out of their way to find this new part for me and get it on order. John and the guys in service did an excellent job getting the sprocket installed with only a one day turn-around. I was even pleasantly surprised to see that my bike had been washed when I came to pick it up. I had rode it to your dealership from my job in New York, dropped if off covered in bugs and picked the bike up sparkling clean and ready to ride! Just wanted to let everyone there know that even though I was already happy with my purchase, I am now even MORE satisfied with how the bike rides and more importantly with the support and service I received at the Erie Harley Davidson dealership. "

"Just a special note of thanks to the people there for the great service my husband, Brian, received. On his way to Sturgis this year (his first out-of-state venture and alone, mind you), about five hours into the trip, he started having mechanical problems with his 2002 Low Rider. Off in the distance, he noticed a sign for the Harley-Davidson dealership in Erie, PA. He safely got to your place and was treated with great respect. You took him to a hotel, got his bike serviced and back to him within a 24 hour period. Because of your great service, he was able to get back on the road the next day. "My name is Dan Powell and I have 1986 FXRT/Sport Glide.I purchased my bike in May of 1986. I have put on close to 100,000 miles on my ride. At the end of June, my motor decided to have a problem. (the rear head decided to not work anymore after only 21 years, go figure)I coast the bike into the Harley shop here in Erie, where I bought my bike some 21 years ago. I have done business with then before, so they do know me. My bike was taken in and looked at and the news was not good. I was talked into sending the motor back to Harley to have them do a rebuild the motor back to new, and they did. The motor is new again and running great as it should. While the bike was down, I rebuilt the rest of the bike by the use of several tool and die shops which I worked at in my many years of tool and die making before I put a badge on. In other words, I am fusy as hell like any other tool and die maker is. When I was called by the Harley shop, my bike was ready to get its new roar. The motor was perfect and Dave who did the job, did a great job at putting the whole thing back together. The bike looks and rides just like new. The motor matched the the rest of the bike as I hope it would. I ordered my motor black with chrome. John, the service manager directed me into the new motor and the other parts I put into the bike while it was apart. He knew what I needed. The Harley shop put the bike together in a way that a tool and die maker would do himself. I couldn't have asked for a better job. And I was also impressed with the new owner Kelly who took me home on the day that my bike decided not to work anymore. I live a half hour away, and Kelly had no problem giving me a ride home. One hell of a guy. Anyone who would like to see the bike, I am out just about every night if it is not bad out. You can not miss my ride, for it is the only Sport Glide with a Classic plate on it. Wave me down to stop (specially you ladies) Dan"

"Susan and Kelly Lapping, I would like to thank you both and the staff at Harley-Davidson of Erie for their prompt assistance on our recent trip through your area. We were on a trip from Mass to Ohio to meet up with a friend traveling to Maine from Oregon. Upon arrival to Erie, my rear brakes on my '98 Heritage Softail began to lock up when used. We stopped at your shop and were very impressed with the efforts of your staff to get us back on the road. Mark Kinstler, the service advisor, got the bike in right away and within the hour we were back on the road. I would like to commend your staff for their prompt and quality service and thank you for your assistance. Everyone from the service tech that worked on my bike, I believe his name is Norm Tripp, to the sales people on the floor were courteous and friendly. I would also like to add that they all had very good things to say about the new ownership. I also had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Susan and Kelly for a while and found them to be a wonderful couple with great ideas for the shop. I wish you good luck on your expansion and I hope to return to check out the new shop when it is completed. Your efforts helped to make our trip a most memorable occasion. And instead of coming home with a horror story about a breakdown in PA, your staff made the breakdown a minor inconvenience and actually a very pleasurable experience.
